1 hospitalized after shooting on Wellesley Circle in Collier County

Detectives are investigating a shooting on Wellesley Circle in Collier County that hospitalized a person on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the male victim was flown to the hospital for treatment. The sheriff’s office received a call about the shooting at 2:40 p.m.

Deputies said the the injury appears to be self-inflicted, but it is still under investigation, including whether the shooting was intentional or accidental.

This is inside The Coast Residences next to Golden Gate Community Park. Crime scene tape could be seen at the scene.
