A woman was transported to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital after a three-car crash near Lake Sumter Landing.

The woman had been a front seat passenger in a Honda Element at 1:51 p.m. Monday in the roundabout on Morse Boulevard at the entrance to Lake Sumter Landing when the vehicle was rear-ended by an Infinity SUV, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s office. The force of the collision pushed the Honda into a Kia van.

The driver of Infinity was cited for careless driving.

The Honda passenger, who was transported by an ambulance from The Villages Public Safety Department, had complained of neck and back pain.
