Commercial building catches fire in Hollywood, fire rescue says

Crews worked to extinguish a fire at a commercial building in Hollywood early Wednesday morning.

Hollywood Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to the building in the 5900 block of Funston Street for reports of an outside fire.

There, firefighters found an unoccupied building with flames on the second floor. Officials initially said an apartment was on fire, but later clarified that the structure encompassed businesses only.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Florida Power & Light (FPL) were requested to respond.
