Fire crews respond to Panama City house fire

Thursday, Panama City fire crews responded to an afternoon house fire.

According to the Panama City Fire Department, around 5:03 p.m. crews were called to a home on Briarcliff Road and found smoke coming from the roof.

Officials say occupants had already evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.

Crews then entered the home and were able to put out the kitchen fire before searching to confirm the structure was clear.

Investigators say the cause of the fire was accidental.
