Woman shot in targeted attack near Glades Road in Boca Raton

Boca Raton police are investigating an apparent targeted shooting that left a woman injured Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. in a parking lot near the 1400 block of NE Second Court, just north of Glades Road and Federal Highway.

Police said the woman was getting into her vehicle when multiple shooters inside a nearby white Mercedes-Benz opened fire.

The woman was shot but was able to drive away, heading westbound on Glades Road toward a hospital. Police said the Mercedes briefly followed her before ending the pursuit before she reached the hospital.

Investigators believe the woman was specifically targeted and said there is no threat to the public.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the investigation to contact Detective Hanley at 561-338-1344.
