Second fatal crash in 24 hours at Holmes County intersection leaves 1 dead, 4 injured

A second fatal crash in Holmes County happened at the intersection of Hwy 81 and Hwy 185 on Sunday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol reports a pickup truck was driving down County Road 185 in Holmes County when the driver ran the stop sign at the intersection. The two vehicles collided in the intersection leaving one person dead, three in serious condition, and another in critical condition.

Both the driver and the passenger of the pickup truck have minor injuries, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash occurred within 24 hours of another fatal crash at the same intersection which resulted in the death of a 12-year-old.

Florida Highway Patrol reports the road is open and cleared.
