Deadly crash under investigation in Gilchrist County

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Gilchrist County.

Fire rescue crews shut down U.S. 129 and County Road 340 in Bell.

According to officials, a passenger vehicle driving on County Road 340 failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with oncoming traffic, killing both occupants of the passenger vehicle.

Crews arrived on the scene around 4:30 p.m., and information on the crash is still being gathered.
