Gainesville woman arrested after attacking group home manager

Gainesville Police say they arrested a 26-year-old Gainesville woman on Saturday after she attacked her group home manager.

The woman is a resident at the group home, according to the report.

Police say the manager was in the resident’s room to discuss her behavioral issues and provide corrective guidance when the resident attempted to leave the house, which is not allowed.

The manager attempted to stop her, and the resident pulled the manager’s braids and pulled her into her chest.

Police say the woman is more than 100 pounds heavier than the manager.

The resident scratched and hit the manager in the face, making her bleed from scratches all over her face.

After a struggle, police say the manager freed herself by biting the resident in the chest.

The woman had a scratch but was not bleeding.

She was charged with simple battery.
