Motorcycle crash shuts down I-95 Southbound in Martin County

A motorcycle crash has left I-95 Southbound closed near Martin County, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.

MCSO says that the crash took place around mile marker 98, which is in southern Martin County, just north of Hobe Sound and Exit 96 (Bridge Road), and south of Exit 101 (Kanner Highway/Stuart). As of now, Southbound is completely shut down. The driver of the motorcycle is being flown to a nearby hospital.

Martin County Fire rescue says that the crash happened just before 7 p.m., and firefighters worked to extinguish the heavy flames from the bike while paramedics assessed the driver.

MCFR also says that LifeStar was called in to airlift the driver to the hospital with traumatic injuries. The lanes were reopened, only to be closed once again just a little while after thanks to another crash.
