A Crystal River man was killed in a crash on Monday after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, troopers said.

A Dodge Ram, driven by the 57-year-old victim, was traveling westbound on West Orange Tree Street at about 9:30 a.m.

Near North Hidden Oaks Way, the man failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and collided with a concrete power pole, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
