Driver recovering after crashing into Bradenton plaza, police say

One person is recovering after reportedly driving their vehicle into a local business on Sunday.

According to the Bradenton Police Department, the car crashed into the Cortez Village Plaza at 6670 Cortez Rd. W.

Police said the driver of the car, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While the business that the vehicle crashed into was closed at the time of the incident, a nearby restaurant was evacuated as a precaution.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
