Ocala shooting investigation underway on Northwest 12th Avenue

OCALA, FL – Law enforcement officials in Marion County are actively investigating a weekend shooting that claimed the life of 23-year-old Tedarrium Deas and left two other individuals hospitalized.

According to the Ocala Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of Northwest 12th Avenue around 2 p.m. on Sunday, where Deas was pronounced deceased at the scene. Shortly after the initial incident, authorities also responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Southwest Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and State Road 200. Investigators recovered a rifle near the shooting site and noted that the post-incident collision is believed to be connected to the case. A third male victim suffering from gunshot wounds was located following the crash, while an 18-year-old and a 31-year-old were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
