Two men were wounded in a shooting outside of a Jamaican restaurant in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood shortly after midnight on Tuesday, authorities confirmed to Local 10 News.

Miami Fire Rescue officials said the two victims, an 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition after suffering gunshot wounds outside Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen, located at 316 NW 24th St.

The restaurant is located across from the Wynwood 25 apartment building in an area known for its restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Authorities said Miami police received multiple emergency calls and found a man with a gunshot wound outside Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen.

Witnesses said officers later found a second victim outside Skinny Louie’s, the restaurant next door.

A Local 10 News crew was outside of the restaurant as police remained at the scene for hours, with officers monitoring the area behind police tape. A K-9 unit was also seen searching around the property.

An employee at a nearby business described the chaos after the gunfire and said he helped a wounded man.

“I seen a crowd of people just running straight towards us,” he said. “I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t hear the shots myself because I was further in the back. As I’m coming out, a lot of people are running inside.”

The employee said people inside the restaurant were told there was gunfire outside.

“So I got everybody inside and then I locked the doors. I thought it was like an open shooter, but the shots had already happened by the time everybody was running inside,” he added.

He said he later found a wounded man outside and helped provide first aid.

“I came outside and I seen a gentleman on the floor. He had a bullet wound to his right buttocks and he was kind of bleeding out. People were applying pressure to him.”

Miami police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting or identified a suspect or possible motive.
