Two men were arrested after a high-speed chase in Lehigh Acres ended in a crash that sent a passenger to the hospital, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says that early Wednesday morning, troopers conducted a traffic stop on 40th Street Southwest and Sara Avenue in Lehigh Acres. A vehicle was reportedly traveling at 70 miles per hour.
The vehicle initially came to a stop, then FHP says it fled onto SR-82 near Gunnery Road, blacked out its lights and accelerated to over 100 miles per hour.
Troopers slowed the vehicle down and performed a PIT maneuver. After the maneuver the vehicle entered the median and overturned.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as F by FHP, sustained a minor injury and was arrested after his release from a hospital.
A female passenger sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The backseat passenger, later identified as C by FHP, ran away from troopers on foot before he was caught and arrested, FHP says.
F faces charges of cocaine possession, fleeing, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and driving an unregistered vehicle.
C faces charges of resisting an officer and probation violation.
