Man killed in crash on I-75 southbound ramp from SR-44 in Sumter County

One man is dead after a crash happened on the ramp to I-75 southbound from SR-44 in Sumter County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on the entrance ramp from SR-44 to I-75 near mile marker 329 in Wildwood.

FHP said a Toyota Tundra driven by a 37-year-old Inverness man was traveling southbound on the ramp when it ran into the back of a tractor-trailer.

The Tundra was then hit by a Hyundai sedan and pushed onto the outside shoulder, where it hit a parked tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Tundra, a 37-year-old Inverness man, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
