A driver was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after crashing a truck into a lake in Sunrise, police confirmed.

The single-vehicle crash happened near the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and Northwest 94th Avenue, according to Sunrise police.

Police said the driver was pulled from the lake and taken to a hospital by fire rescue crews.

Sky 10 flew over the scene at about 1:31 p.m., where the truck was fully submerged in the water after apparently crashing through a wall. Divers were also at the scene, which was surrounded by crime scene tape.

The driver’s gender, age, identity and condition, as well as the circumstances of the crash, were not immediately released.
