One person is dead and another person is seriously injured after a crash in Pensacola early Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on the Bayou Texar Bridge when a vehicle hit the guardrail in the middle of the bridge and overturned.
“An eastbound single-vehicle crash occurred, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and the ejection of one occupant,” Pensacola Police said in a release.
The ejected passenger was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, while the other occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The City of Pensacola has reported that the Bayou Texar Bridge (Cervantes St.) is back open as of 9 a.m.
No further details have been released, including the identities of those involved.
