All lanes of I-75 southbound are open again.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office told Gulf Coast News there were two vehicles as well as a semi involved in the crash. Multiple people were hurt. Some were flown to the hospital via medical flight for treatment. We’re working to confirm how many people were taken to the hospital.

Traffic is moving again on the southbound side of I-75 at mile marker 156. One lane is open letting vehicles move by the scene of the crash.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Florida Highway Patrol confirmed a crash with injuries on Interstate 75 in Charlotte County.
Traffic is being diverted off I-75 southbound at the Tuckers Grade exit.
According to Florida 511, the crash happened on the southbound side before mile marker 156. This is between Punta Gorda and Fort Myers. All lanes were closed on the southbound side of the interstate. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the crash happened at Tuckers Grade.
Multiple first responders could be seen at the scene of the crash. FHP arrived at the scene at 7:41 p.m. Traffic is moving on the northbound side. Gulf Coast News is working to confirm how many people were hurt and how the crash happened.
