One person was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert after a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus with students on board in Lehigh Acres Wednesday morning.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Eisenhower Boulevard at Grant Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.

LCSO said Eisenhower Boulevard and Grant Boulevard are blocked at this time, and drivers are asked to use caution in the area and seek an alternate route.

Deputies said there were approximately 20 students on board at the time of the crash. The Lee County School District said reports indicate some students suffered minor cuts and bruises.

It is unclear who was transported to the hospital as a trauma alert at this time. This is an active investigation.
