Citrus County mother killed in crash identified as beloved teacher

 Lecanto Middle School teacher CJ was killed early Wednesday morning after colliding with a dump truck on West Homosassa Trail.

The dump truck, traveling west, was attempting to make a left turn when it entered the pathway of J’s vehicle, a Dodge minivan.

The minivan, which was traveling east, received significant damage to its front bumper when it collided with the dump truck.

“During this time of sorrow, we ask for your thoughts, prayers, and support for our students, staff, and all those who are grieving,” H wrote.

The driver of the dump truck, a 34-year-old man from Ocala, was unharmed in the crash.

Along with J were her three children: a 16-year-old female, 15-year-old female and 12-year-old male.

The three children were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
