Escambia County mobile home fire results in total loss, investigation underway

A trailer home was engulfed in flames on Wednesday morning, resulting in a total loss of the structure, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.

Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to the scene at 10:16 a.m. at the 4100 block of W. Belmont Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy flames.

Fire crews say due to the heavy flames, a defensive attack was necessary to knock down the flames.

The situation was contained by 10:32 a.m., with no reported injuries or fatalities, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.

The Bureau of Fire and Arson is currently investigating the cause of the fire. Assistance at the scene was provided by Escambia County EMS and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The American Red Cross is aiding those displaced by the fire.
