A man has died after driving the wrong way on US-301 in Dade City and hitting a Hungry Howie’s semi, the Florida Highway Patrol announced.

A GMC Sierra driven by an unidentified man was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of US-301 for unknown reasons when he collided head-on with a semi driven by a 41-year-old Haines City man.

The driver of the GMC suffered fatal injuries, FHP said.

The driver of the semi suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
