A man has died, and three passengers were injured in a vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, resulting in the shutdown of all westbound lanes on Interstate 4.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 48-year-old Ruskin man was driving a Kia Sedona heading west on I-4.
East of I-275, at Milepost 1, the Kia veered onto the inside shoulder and collided with an attenuator.
FHP said the vehicle was then redirected back into the travel lanes before crashing into a Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 21-year-old Parrish man, also traveling west on I-4 in the inside lane.
FHP said the driver of the Kia died at the scene.
The three passengers traveling with him all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the Nissan was unharmed.
