3 injured after being struck by vehicle near Embry-Riddle entrance in Daytona Beach

Three people were taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle near Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach on Monday, according to a news release.

Police said they responded to the crash at the intersection of South Clyde Morris Boulevard and Richard Petty Boulevard, near the university’s main entrance.

According to the release, crews found three pedestrians in the roadway. All three were taken to the hospital, two as trauma alerts, officials said.

The university said in the statement below that they were cooperating with police in regards to the crash “involving Embry-Riddle student pedestrians,” but officers did not say if the three injured in their release were students there.

“Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is actively cooperating with the Daytona Beach Police Department to investigate an accident that occurred at Clyde Morris Boulevard near the university’s main entrance involving Embry-Riddle student pedestrians. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident. At this time, we do not have information regarding the conditions of the injured parties. We advise all pedestrians and drivers to exercise caution in the area today and every day.”Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University spokesperson
