A 25-year-old passenger was killed Sunday after a speeding Corvette collided with a sedan she was traveling in on Military Trail.
According to a traffic log from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), A Toyota Camry was making a left turn on Military Trail and Cedar Point Boulevard when a Corvette traveling southbound struck the car in the rear door area where the victim, NP of Boynton Beach, was seated.
Deputies noted that the lights were green for both vehicles.
As the crash occurred, the Toyota Camry was ripped apart and P, 25, was ejected along with the seat and door which popped off from the extreme high-speed impact, deputies report.
Responders on the scene pronounced P deceased upon arrival.
Deputies say the Corvette driver, 39-year-old DD, sustained critical injuries. PBSO believes drugs or alcohol were a factor in the vehicle crash and charges are pending at this time.
