The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a fatal shooting at the intersection of U.S. Highway 301 and Balm Riverview Road.
Deputies responded to the intersection shortly after 3 p.m. after reports of a shooting, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Once on scene, deputies found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A sheriff’s office spokeswoman told ABC7 the shooter was driving a vehicle and the victim was a pedestrian, possibly on foot or riding a bicycle.
The shooter remained at the scene and was cooperating with detectives.
Detectives are conferring with the State Attorney’s Office regarding this investigation.
