Panama City Beach man killed by truck while crossing Highway 98

 A Panama City Beach man is dead after he was hit by a truck while crossing Highway 98 Wednesday morning.

It happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the intersection of Highway 98 and Michigan Avenue.

According to the Panama City Police Department, a large pick-up truck was turning eastbound onto Highway 98 from Michigan Ave. when it collided with the man who was crossing Highway 98 just east of Michigan Ave.

Officers identified the victim as ER, 60, of Panama City Beach.

R was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officers said this investigation remains open, and they are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
