‘We told them to stop’: 3 juveniles flee Miami hit-and-run that left baby hospitalized

We told them to stop': 3 juveniles flee Miami hit-and-run that left baby hospitalized

Three juveniles fled a hit-and-run crash in Miami on Thursday morning that left an infant hospitalized, according to police.

It happened at Northwest 41st Street and Northwest 10th Avenue.

There were no serious injuries, but an infant in the victim’s vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution, authorities said.

The three minors ditched the car and ran away on foot, police said.

L U says she was getting ready to take her daughter to school when she heard a loud crash.

She shared a cellphone video that shows the moments after a hit-and-run. The two damaged cars with the airbags deployed, as fire rescue and police were on scene. A first responder was also seen holding the baby, who was in the white car.

“The mom was injured and couldn’t walk. She was trying to go around the car and saying, ‘That my baby. My baby is inside.’ She was trying to save the baby,” U said.

Chopper6 video shows a white car with a smashed hood and open doors in the roadway as officers investigate.

“I heard the crash, and when we came out, the three kids were getting out of the car that hit the lady,” U said. “They were just running away. We told them to stop and do not run, but they just keep running.”

One woman who lives nearby said she’s always wanted a traffic light in the area as many people blow through the stop signs.

“I heard a loud noise, and when I went outside my house, I saw the two cars,” she said in Spanish. “There was a woman in the white car that was on the ground screaming with her baby. That was all I could see, and then rescue and police arrived.”

Anyone with information on the crash should call 305-471-TIPS (8477).
