A person was shot and killed late Thursday night during what police are calling an attempted home invasion at a Fort Myers apartment complex.
Fort Myers Police say they responded to a call of someone saying they fired one shot at an intruder that was armed and trying to get into their home.
Officers and EMS provided life-saving measures, but the intruder was pronounced dead on the scene.
FMPD says no one is in custody at this time, and the investigation remains active.
