Crash happened at intersection of Woodland Boulevard, Beresford Avenue
DELAND, Fla. – A two-vehicle crash in DeLand partially closed a roadway Sunday after a broken fire hydrant caused the road to be damaged, city officials said.
According to a news release, a pickup truck with a lawn trailer and an SUV were involved in a crash at the intersection of Woodland Boulevard and Beresford Avenue.
Officials said that a fire hydrant was damaged in the crash, which caused “significant damage to the roadway in the southbound lanes of the Woodland Boulevard-Beresford Avenue intersection, which remains closed until further notice.”
Officials said there was also a boil water notice for nearby businesses, but didn’t specify a precise area.
The intersection was later reopened, DeLand officials posted Monday morning on X.
According to the release, DeLand officials worked with the Florida Department of Transportation, Volusia County and Duke Energy to get the intersection open as quickly as possible.
