CELEBRATION, Fla. —
Florida Highway Patrol said one person is dead after a vehicle crashed and ended up submerged in a lake in Celebration.
Osceola County Fire Rescue firefighters were called out to Front Street in Celebration shortly before 4 p.m. for a vehicle that crashed into the lake. Crews were unable to locate the vehicle due to the depth it had sunk to, and an Orlando Fire Department dive team was called in to help look for the vehicle and any occupants.
FHP said the driver, a 71-year-old man, was recovered from the vehicle but pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was identified as a Chrysler Pacifica.
There is currently roadblock on Bloom Street as rescue crews remain on scene.
