On April 19, a person traveling on a jet ski in the Caloosahatchee River got injured while trying to cross between two boats.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County EMS and Cape Coral Police Department all responded to the scene.
According to the FWC, a personal watercraft (PWC) was traveling on the River and attempted to cross between a vessel that was towing another vessel. While doing so, the operator of the PWC contacted the tow rope and sustained serious injuries as a result. They were then transported to the hospital by Lee County EMS.
This is an active investigation.
The FWC will be the lead agency for the ongoing investigation.
