A 71-year-old man from Putnam County died Monday afternoon after his pickup truck veered off the road and crashed into a tree, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the man from Interlachen was traveling north on State Road 207 at Maine Street when, for unknown reasons, he traveled off the roadway until his truck eventually struck the tree, which caused the vehicle to flip.

The man was taken to Flagler Hospital, where he later died, FHP said.
