Driver found shot after car crashes into front yard of Clay County home

A driver was found shot on Easter Sunday after their car crashed into the yard of a home in Clay County, deputies said.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said that around 9:52 p.m., deputies responded to a traffic crash with injuries at 1340 Akron Oaks Dr., where the vehicle had gone into the front yard.

When they got to the scene, the deputies discovered that the driver had been shot.

The condition of the driver is unknown.

CCSO says the shooter has been identified but is not in custody at this time.

There is no threat to the public, deputies said, because the victim and the suspect knew each other.
