A 78-year-old man was arrested on two counts of vehicular homicide after a crash that claimed the lives of two pedestrians in West Palm Beach.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said that RM was taken into custody on April 22 in connection with the deadly crash.
The crash occurred on December 27, 2024, before 7 p.m., at the intersection of Drexel Road and Fairgreen Road. According to the crash report, M was driving a 2011 Toyota Venza southbound on Drexel Road when he attempted to pass a slowing vehicle by entering the turn lane.
The crash report said M crossed into the oncoming traffic lane — driving southbound in the northbound lane — where he struck a man and a woman head-on, who were crossing Fairgreen Road.
Both pedestrians, identified as 73-year-old T M and 71-year-old M M, suffered fatal injuries.
Over three months later, PBSO said M was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail for two counts of vehicular homicide.
