An overturned boat trailer carrying a new boat is blocking the northbound lanes on the Florida Turnpike.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says the crash is near the St. Lucie County and Martin County line. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
MCSO says traffic is being detoured near the Palm City exit. Deputies say travelers should expect for the northbound lanes to be closed for some time.
According to Florida 511, the crash occurred before Mile Marker 136, with traffic congestion extending back to before Mile Marker 131. The situation was last updated at 5:32 p.m.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays as authorities work to manage the situation. Photos taken by traffic cameras show bumper-to-bumper standstill traffic.
