Woman killed, 2 hurt in wrong-way crash in Lake County, troopers say

A woman was killed and two others were hurt in a wrong-way crash on US-27 in Groveland.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night on US-27 at Adkins Lane.

Troopers say a 30-year-old woman was driving the wrong way on the northbound side of US-27 when she hit a 45-year-old woman driving the right way.

The 30-year-old woman’s car then rotated and hit a second car with a 27-year-old woman inside.

The 30-year-old woman, reportedly driving the wrong way, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other women who were hit were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
