2 people hospitalized after shooting at Lakeland bar, police say

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were hospitalized Thursday night following a shooting at a Lakeland bar, according to police.

The Lakeland Police Department said officers started receiving calls about a shooting at the Rush Hour Bar & Grill around 9:30 p.m.

Two people, both adults, were injured by the gunfire, authorities said. They were both taken to Lakeland Regional Health for treatment.

Authorities said one of the victims was in critical condition. The second victim’s condition remained unknown.

A witness told News Channel 8 he and his wife were just pulling into the parking lot when they heard about nine gunshots and a bunch of people screaming.

“A lot of fear. I couldn’t help but think about the guy on the ground, trying to get him some help,” Seth Bunch said. “My wife called 911.”
