LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — Two men have been arrested in Lake Worth for allegedly throwing bricks at their neighbors, resulting in severe injuries. Now, one is being held on a detention order related to his immigration status.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said Oscar Pedro Fransisco, 30, and Luis Mendez Felipe, 21, were taken into custody following the violent altercation with their neighbors on Conrad Circle.
At around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, the victims told deputies that the two men had thrown bricks at them. A man suffered a broken left hand and multiple scratches on his chest, while his wife sustained severe swelling on the left side of her face. The man also reported that one of the men threw a brick at his rear car window.
Deputies approached the suspects’ home, saw blood on the side of the house, and loud noises that deputies described as “noises resembling a violent altercation.” Someone answered the door but was uncooperative. However, while speaking to the resident, the deputies heard loud banging.
According to the arrest report, due to the presence of blood and the loud noises, deputies said immediate entry was needed. Inside the residence, deputies saw large amounts of blood on the kitchen floor. Several people were detained, but Fransisco and Felipe were identified as the suspects.
Based on the evidence, the sheriff’s office said both men were arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail early Sunday morning. Felipe faces criminal mischief with damages greater than $200, but less than $1,000. Fransisco faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Following his arrest, it was determined that Fransisco is an illegal immigrant according to court records. A detention order was issued, indicating that he is being held due to his immigration status.
