Small plane crashes in Crescent Lake near Bear Island; no injuries reported

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A two-seater seaplane crashed in Crescent Lake on Tuesday morning, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10:15 a.m., deputies received a call from a resident who saw the plane flip in the water near Bear Island. A nearby resident took his boat to the plane as rescue crews were on the way.

The pilot and co-pilot were safely recovered from the plane with no known injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the two-seater seaplane reportedly took off from Flagler County’s airport as part of a flight from an aviation school.

The Federal Aviation Administration will handle the investigation with the Florida Highway Patrol.
