Solar system malfunction causes fire at home in The Villas

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

South Trail Fire & Rescue responded after a solar panel system caught fire on the side of a home in The Villas Wednesday night.

The fire district stated that the fire originated in the battery supply bank, which is connected to the rooftop solar panel system and powers the entire home.
