TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— A pedestrian died Friday morning after he was hit by a car, the Tampa Police Department said.
Officers responded to North 50th Street and East 23rd Avenue around 5 a.m. in regard to a crash.
TPD said the pedestrian was standing in the northbound lanes of North 50th Street near East 23rd Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to miss the man. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
All northbound lanes on North 50th Street starting at Melbourne Avenue have since been reopened.
