A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 63-year-old Atmore woman on Monday.
Troopers say the incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Booneville Road near Long Hollow Road, about 16 miles north of Atmore in Escambia County.
The woman was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry when the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree, according to ALEA.
Deputies confirmed that the woman was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
