A person who had to be removed after being trapped in a car during a crash Wednesday morning in St. Johns County died at the hospital, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue reported that firefighters and paramedics responded to the intersection of U.S. 1 north and Pine Island Road, which is about 6 minutes southeast of County Road 210.
A person was trapped in a car, and firefighters had to use their equipment to get them out.
The person was removed from the car around 8:45 a.m. and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to information from FHP, they did not survive.
