A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he stabbed a man to death following a verbal argument in North Miami, authorities said.
According to an arrest report from the North Miami Police Department, the fatal stabbing occurred around 4:50 p.m. on April 6 in the 1300 block of Northeast 127th Street.
Police said the suspect, TDG, of North Miami, and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument before G went back to his apartment, retrieved a sharp object – possibly a knife – and then returned to the swale where the victim remained.
According to the report, the two men got into a physical confrontation before G stabbed the victim multiple times in the upper torso, chest and head area while sitting on top of the victim who was laying on his back on the ground.
After the stabbing, G walked back to his apartment, authorities said.
Deputies said the victim also got up and stumbled around before collapsing in front of an apartment unit in the complex.
According to the report, the victim was treated at the scene by North Miami police officers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue before being transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where he died.
According to the report, G was identified through surveillance video from the complex that was shown to his grandmother.
Police said G surrendered himself at the police station on Monday and did not make any statements to detectives.
G was arrested on a second-degree murder charge.
As of Wednesday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
