One man is in critical condition and another is in unstable condition after a Sunday afternoon shooting in Vero Beach.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) is investigating a shooting on the 4200 block of 32nd Avenue in Vero Beach.
At 2:32 p.m., two adult men arrived at the Cleveland Clinic Emergency Room with multiple gunshot wounds, according to deputies.
The victim in unstable condition coded at the hospital, was resuscitated, and was later airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center, per IRCSO.
“Our detectives and crime scene team will be working for some time to determine the facts surrounding the shooting incident that occurred today,” said Sheriff Eric Flowers. “We encourage anyone with information to come forward and share what you know.”
IRCSO says the shooter was located near the scene and is in deputy custody. The firearm was also located and collected as evidence.
Deputies say that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, with no ongoing threat to the public.
