Accident in Winter Haven: Car stuck under truck paralyzes traffic

A serious accident involving a truck has resulted in the closure of all eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winter Haven.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Winter Haven Fire Rescue are on the scene of the accident involving a truck and a vehicle that was trapped underneath the truck.

Emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident at Cypress Gardens Blvd and Lake Ruby Drive around 5:13 am

The Winter Haven Department of Public Safety is asking residents to seek alternate routes.

“Eastbound Cypress Gardens Blvd at Lake Ruby Dr. will remain closed for an extended period while emergency services attend to the accident,” the Winter Haven Police Department reported.

At the moment, it is unknown if there were any injuries in the accident.
