Firefighters extinguished a residential home fire in Alachua on Monday afternoon.
According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, firefighters responded to the report of a residential fire at 2 p.m. with the possibility of two people still inside.
Upon arrival, the crews found a single-story residence with smoke emanating from the eves and they could see the fire through a window located near the kitchen.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and searched the home and found no one inside. All of the home’s occupants had evacuated outside by the street.
The ACFR E21 crew stopped the fire and prevented it from causing substantial damage.
