Deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) arrested the man who they say crashed through the front entrance of a liquor store while driving under the influence.
Deputies arrested JC L, 73, late Thursday night after responding to a vehicle crash at Hawthorne Liquor Store on U.S.
ACSO officials shared on social media that they found a single vehicle sitting inside the liquor store’s showroom after Lee crashed through the front entrance.
Deputies estimate the damage Lee caused to be approximately $20,000.
They said L showed signs of driving under the influence and performed poorly on the Standardized Field Sobriety exercises.
He was arrested on charges of DUI damage to property and taken to Alachua County Jail where he is being held without bond.
