All lanes reopen on I-295 southbound at Beach Blvd. after semi-truck fire

All lanes of Interstate 295 southbound at Beach Boulevard have reopened after a semi-truck that caught fire shut down all lanes for hours early Monday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Around 8:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened. However, emergency vehicles were still on scene, and traffic delays remained an issue during the morning commute.

Around 4:20 a.m., JSO said the road would remain closed until further notice. Traffic was being diverted exiting onto Beach Blvd.

JFRD, FHP and road rangers helped clear the scene.
